About the Program

The Bachelor’s Program in Mechatronics Engineering is a program under the Faculty of Engineering Technology. The Mechatronics Program at UNPAR is the first undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering in Indonesia that focuses on mechatronics, specifically designed to meet the demand for skilled professionals in the field of mechatronics engineering, not only in Indonesia but also in Asia and globally. In 2023, the Bachelor’s Program in Mechatronics Engineering at UNPAR received a Good Accreditation status based on the Indonesian LAM Engineering Decree number 0262/SK/LAM Teknik/AS/VIII/2023.

The objective of the Bachelor’s Program in Mechatronics Engineering is to equip students with the principles of mechatronic system design through lectures and practicals, including manufacturing processes, robotics, automated systems, IoT, and computer programming. This program provides students with a theoretical framework while also challenging them with projects and independent studies.

What is Mechatronics?

Mechatronics is a synergistic application of engineering sciences such as mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, computer engineering, and control engineering to design, create, manufacture, operate, and maintain systems to achieve desired goals.

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field that synergizes electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computational sciences, enabling it to address the industrial challenges of the future, which are rich in robotics technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence, commonly referred to as the Industrial 4.0 era. The uniqueness of the Mechatronics Program established by UNPAR lies in its educational approach that:

  1. Maximally strives to develop local potential for elevation to an international level. Many local industries still operate traditionally, making it challenging to penetrate and compete in the global market. By utilizing appropriate technology and production system automation, these local industries can enhance their production capacity and efficiency while improving and maintaining the quality consistency of their products.
  2. Aims to meet society’s need for competent graduates in Mechatronics Engineering, particularly in the areas of production system automation, robotics, and human-centered mechatronic systems. Supported by two existing programs at UNPAR (Industrial Engineering and Chemical Engineering), the Mechatronics Program at UNPAR is expected to have enhanced capabilities in addressing challenges related to production system automation in manufacturing and process industries.
  3. Produces graduates who have a passion for developing their knowledge to serve the community fully.
  4. Produces graduates who possess a strong spirit.

Graduate Profile

Based on past experiences, the characteristics that will distinguish graduates of the Mechatronics Engineering Program are:

  1. The ability to learn independently while maintaining social communication aspects.
  2. The capability to design intelligent systems utilizing available facilities.
  3. A strong entrepreneurial ability, enabling them to create jobs based on technology (technopreneurship).
